Fall update:
Kaijuu Girls sells 741/208, total 949. One-shot release, so also the series average.
Dream Festival v4 sells 622/289, total 911.
Flip Flappers v3 sells 786 BDs, DVDs do not rank.
Occultic;Nine v4 sells 448 BDs, DVDs do not rank.
YOI v1 adds 390/198, total 72,280 in wk10, meaning it added 222 DVDs in wk9.
v2 adds 437/227, total 64,627 in wk6, meaning it added 300 DVDs in wk5.
v3 adds 6224/2824, total 55,194. That’s an exceptional wk2, better than v2’s wk2. It lows down a lot after wk2 so it won’t get to 60k, but 55k for a non-ticket volume is massive.
Tourabu v3 adds 606/625, total 15,162.
Haikyuu s3 v3 adds 528/486, total 9,681.
G Tekketsu s2 v1 adds 620/201, total 6,930.
Brave Witches v1 adds 682 BDs, total 5,725.
Natsume s5 v3 adds 274/239, total 5,052.
Vivid Strike v3 adds 464 BDs, total 4,566.
Stray Dogs s2 v3 adds 509/525, total 3,967.
Summer update:
LL Sunshine v5 adds 3961, total 36,624.
v6 adds 10473, total 34,357. Event tickets starting to take effect, but there’s supply constraints because after all this time, Bandai is still very bad at anime.
Tsukiuta v6 adds 976/550, total 6,159.
New Game v6, final volume, adds 704 BDs, total 5,619. Series average: 5,886.
Masou Gakuen v6, final volume, adds 551 BDs, total 3,409. Series average: 3,721.
Illya s4 v6, final volume, adds 613 BDs, total 3,204. Series average: 3,484.
Servamp v6, final volume, adds 250/346, total 2,213. Series average: 3,009.
Past seasons:
Regalia v5 sells 311 BDs, DVDs do not rank.
Re:Zero v9, final volume, adds 1276/240, total 9,795. Finishing with a strong wk2, best since v6. Also best vol total since v5. Series average: 10,803.
Delta v8 adds 831/214, total 7,409.
Jojo pt4 v9 adds 454 BDs, total 6,723.
OVAs, Movies, Boxsets etc:
Kinmosa Pretty Days OVA sells 5176/611, total 5,787.
Sister Princess BD Box sells 806. Contains the original and RePure.
Zaregoto v4 adds 1242/409, total 14,703.
Garupan Fandisc 2 adds 855, total 11,051.
Yuyushiki OVA adds 236 BDs, total 8,703. Really small wk2 (surprised it even ranked) because it immediately went completely out of stock everywhere. Just recently Amazon and HMV finally got it back in, but Animate, Rakuten, Gamers are all still out of stock. Hoping in the next week or two it can get a solid addition.
Sword Art Online BD Box adds 654, total 7,227 in wk6, meaning it added 402 in wk5. It’s added exactly 2,000 after wk1, which is strong legs for a box. No doubt helped by the film being so successful.
Planetarian Movie adds 719 LE BDs, total 6,296.
Strike Witches season 1-2/OVA/film BD Box adds 453, total 5,036. The first season has now passed ¥700m and is #10 all-time by revenue and #3 for one-cour series.

The very first volume of 2017 anime comes out on March 8th. It may be a little longer before I put up any of the 2017 posts however.
I’m so happy that my babes is selling successfully without event ticket. Can someone tell me what’s the last anime that sold more than 55k without event tickets and before Fall 2016?
In a single volume, or as an average of non-ticket volumes? Osomatsu-san had three different non-ticket volumes over 55k. v3 sold 67k.
A non-ticket vol average of 55k (YOI likely will fall a bit below that) would leave Osomatsu-san and LLSS just short (both 54k) so you’d have to go back to Nisemonogatari in 2012 (just under 60.7k, as it had no event tickets).
So Vol.3 of Osomatsu sold without event ticket? They have 5 event ticket and 3 non event ticket right? I don’t get why the last 2 volumes sold less than 50k even tho they got an event ticket.
And all the monogatari series sold without event ticket? 60k without ticket is too much xD
Monogatari never had event tickets in any volume, correct.
As far as I know, Osomatsu-san was 2 event tickets (v1-2), 6 non-event tickets (v3-8).
Tickets
114,548
84,727
Non-tickets
67,272
60,977
55,131
51,186
45,989
43,952
Wow, that’s awesome. Monogatari is one of those anime that target towards males and is selling great without event. That’s impressive, even the Light novel.
AWESOME! I thought it has 5 event tickets. And what about Love Live season 1 and 2 how many event ticket did they get?
Monogatari is down a lot from its peak though. It doesn’t get anywhere near 60k anymore, let alone the ~80k of the first season. More like 25k. Still impressive after so, so many volumes but a far cry from the top.
LL had 2 tickets per season before Sunshine went bonkers.
Yeah, I’ve noticed that the sales of monogatari is decreasing.
Oh, cool for LL then, I thought season 2 has 5 event tickets as well.
Anyway, thanks for giving me all these information.
YAY SUNSHINE! You go Sunshine!
Jesus Yuri on Ice has great holds. Whoever was riding the “shows with big female demographics cant have good holds” train is eating their words haha. I expect v3 to end at ~58ish but be careful about saying it cant make 60k because it might do it just to spite you,
Wouldn’t need to be spite! I don’t have an interest in YOI on a personal level but I like seeing it do so well in part because it pisses off a lot of unsavory people.
Hmmm Natsume ):
anyway Re:zero are doing great ❤
See that right there? Yuri!!! on Ice. I’m so glad to see it doing so well. I didn’t expect such a big week 2. Thank you again, anime gods.
Wow!!! 55k already! YOI still continues surprising me! I’m so so happy!
OMG, poor Flip Flappers…
In positive news, it was only down 1% on the previous volume! Great hold!
…yeah I got nothing, it’s dead as shit.
I really enjoyed the show as well, absolutely love the ED song. Underappreciated I say.
YOI is doing spectacular! So happy for it.
At this rate, YOI is going to average more than Shingeki no Kyojin and Fate/Zero. It will be the 9th best selling series on Something’s ranking.
Isnt it too soon to say that at least for Shingeki, Shingeki has BD boxes coming, maybe they could add on to its total.
The 10k+ list is ranked by original release average, not original + re-releases.
Brilliant! I didn’t expect it to hit 55K on week 2, I thought it would make 50 or 51, I’m really excited! It’s awesome to see that even without tickets, the series manages to hold spectacular sales, it’s telling about how people love the show for itself rather than for the chance to go to seiyuu events or concerts.
@something, if it’s not too much trouble, do you know what are the stalker estimates for YOI v4 compared to v3? I know in-show events don’t usually influence sales, but I remember hearing pre-orders for the show spiked back when episode 7 aired, so I’m curious if there could be more general interest in that volume
When a later episode spikes interest, it boosts all volumes, not just the volume containing its episode. The only exception would be totally standalone arcs, like an Amagami volume or Bakeneko from Ayakashi.
YOI v3’s final Stalker estimate was 25,653.
v4’s estimate is currently 26,501, so basically the same. Later volumes tend to accrue slightly higher estimates even if their actual sales are flat or slightly down, because they’re solicited longer and collect points for more days. Still, odds are it won’t be dropping much.
Thanks, guess we’ll just have to wait. I do hope it manages to hold these numbers for subsequent volumes
Re;zero still managed to maintain that 10k average despite being over a year since it aired…for a 2 cour show that is really consistent.
Do you have the ranking for all the DVD and BD?
I went on Oricon and they only show the ranking but not total sales number.
Do you have any idea where can i see a weekly list of all DVD and BD with a sales number?
Thank you
Oricon works on this schedule:
Tuesday – Partial sales list (we call it the “preliminary sales”). This I get from my subscription to Oricon Youtaiju. They don’t put numbers on the public website for DVD/BD.
Thursday/Friday – Full sales list covering the Top 100 DVDs and Top 100 BDs. This I get from leaks posted on 2ch, because the subscription to the full list is thousands of dollars.
So tomorrow or the next day we’ll see the rest of the list. But not “all” discs, because Oricon only reports down to a certain point each week, not every single disc that sold even one copy for the week.
If you’re asking why there are some gaps in the numbers, it’s because I only report the anime releases.
I mean the whole DVD sale not just the anime one. I want to know the sales number of Touken Ranbu musical.
But thanks for providing me with the info anyway, I really appreciated it :)
You might have asked this question but: http://curiouscat.me/somekindofthing/post/117526388
So yeah, if I see it listed in the urisure/2ch posts I will include them under “Other releases (concerts etc)”, but I don’t go looking for them.
It looks like the latest Tourabu musical wasn’t included in those posts this week, but checking Oricon Youtaiju itself I see it sold 10363/7875, total 18,238 in its first week.
omg Thank you so much :DD
Sorry for being a burdens to you
really appreciated it ^^
Here’s the full list: http://pastebin.com/qnvHyNik
Will do the post tonight.
Updated with the full list.
Gah, ‘www Working’ v.3 doesn’t even rank in its second week.
