Spring update:
Hakuouki Otogisoushi sells 1271/426, total 1,697. 6.8/27.9% overestimated. One-shot release, so this is also the average.
HeroAca v2 sells 1770/1224, total 2,994. Steep event ticket drop, 36.2% on v1wk1.
v1 adds 169 DVDs, total 5,616.
Sansan v2 sells 1649/228, total 1,877. 29.9% event ticket drop on v1wk1, also fairly rough.
Re:Zero v1 adds 734 BDs, total 9,193. Bump from ep 15 was about the size I expected. 10k v1 looking increasingly possible now.
Stray Dogs v1 adds 193 VDVDs, total 8,289.
Winter update:
Grimgar v5 sells 2906/371, total 3,277. Will need a small bump next volume to maintain a 4k average, though it’d have it easily if we still got extended rankings.
Divine Gate v4 sells 503/554, total 1,057.
Koyomimonogatari adds 640 BDs, total 29,492.
Past seasons:
Haikyuu s2 v7 sells 5480/4535, total 10,015. We’ll see the first sub-10k opening week next volume, presumably.
Osomatsu-san v6 adds 276/452, total 48,932.
OVAs, Movies, Boxsets etc:
Chuu2koi BD Box sells 722.
Garupan Movie adds 2715/314, total 218,343. Big bump this week, more than double last week’s sales. 220k looking very likely.
OVA adds 345 BDs, total 65,731.
2015 re-release v4 adds 247, total 10,614.
Aria s2 BD Box adds 600, total 15,420 in wk11. That’s roughly 1k more than we had even in the mid-year list, must have been on sale this month.

I thought almost a whole week around #50 http://i.imgur.com/zpOwMrt.png would be worth a bit more than 734 but it’s really nice jump anyway, not many shows that aren’t smash hits are able to rank in wk4 so confidently.
v6 of Grimgar does have a bit better prediction than v5 or v4 but still, both v5 and v6 would need wk2s for 4k average – and v4 didn’t get one. Things are looking rather grim in this case.
Lovely to see Aria selling even more. Same with GuP.
ss from which website?

Re:Zero’s episode 15 was fantastic and also did fantastic things for the blu-rays with v1 and v2 getting a top50 bump and the rest of them hanging around the first 200 positions. Granted the 10K average is out of the question but with the show still airing it’s possible that at least the first two volumes (maybe with some luck the third one too) reach that number.
Well deserved.
How about estimate sell for High Speed! so release tomorrow?
The estimate is 23,432. That’d be pretty mediocre, but we have to assume it’ll be underestimated, even though it’s not been nearly as strong at Animate as one might expect.
Thank you for your answer.I’m hope this series is success series to KyoAi.And hope KyoAni will make series with many boy again.
Have you heard of this novel called “Violet Evergarden”? It’s packed with a lot of male characters (only Violet and one of the 6 shorts’s protagonists are female).
Thanks for your information.I will waiting to watch it.I wish my favorite seiyu will cast in this serie too.
Finally re: zero bit hight school fleet (:
hmmm…last week re:zero sold 410 and this week jump to 734 !!
how is that? /:
Episode 15 was a big turning point episode and got a generally very positive reaction. That pushed a couple hundred more people off the fence and got them to start importing it. It probably sold about 500 more this week than it would have normally, assuming a 400 week would normally be followed by maybe a 200 week.
nice (:
but do you think it pushed the DVD?
hope we see it in full ranking
Probably not on DVD, no. The vast majority of Re:Zero’s sales are on BD so if BDs move 700 in a week, DVDs were probably under 100, which won’t make the rankings.
Also, the Tuesday list is almost always already the full list for DVD. DVDs have two main lists:
Top 30 Anime
Top 100 All
But there are usually less than 30 anime in the top 100, so the Tuesday Top 30 Anime list is actually more comprehensive than the Top 100 All.
“The vast majority of Re:Zero’s sales are on BD so if BDs”
i think it’s maybe good because the BD disc are more expensive than the dvd disc so that’s mean more revenue /:
do you think the BD will be in the next week?
It’s back up around #50 again so yeah, it’ll definitely get a wk5.
Vols 3-9 have dropped considerably over past 24 hours but they’re still hanging in top300 in which they’ve been staying for over a week already. Meanwhile v1 has jumped to #35.
Makes me feel like it’s few years ago when those situations were more common.
Yeah I followed this show’s development these past weeks. It’s really interesting to see all available volumes within the top 200 ( now 300 ), it’s been some time since I saw that.
Knowing the contents of episode 17 and 18 I expect them to rush within the top 200 again maybe even higher than the boost from episode 15.
Because of the almost guaranteed effect it will have on the viewers I also estimate vol 1 to make the 10k in 2 weeks.
is this normal when the sales still at the rankings for 5 weeks or more?
No it’s not normal at all. Usually only big hitters manage to reach the third or fourth week but Re:Zero had the unusual bump from episode 15 and also stock issues.
Last time I remember this happening was with Shirobako where all volumes broke the top 100 some time around the second cour (coincidentally I think it was after episode 15). Stock issues also made Shirobako’s releases last four or five weeks or more (with the first volume having a three-months tail). In the end, a show that was estimated to sell less than 5K per volume ended up averaging 15K.
Do you mean ranking top 100 on Amazon more than a month after release? Fairly uncommon, though certainly not unheard of for a first volume of a two cour show. If it happened to a one cour show, now -that- would be pretty rare. Being two cour means new episodes are constantly airing after v1 is released (and often mid-series climax episodes) so that can drive additional sales.
If you mean ranking in the Oricon charts for 5 weeks or more, that’s happens quite frequently (though will be less so going forward because of the lack of extended rankings)
Sorry for asking this here, but is it really doubtful that ‘Macross Δ’ will average above 20,000? Are its other merchandise doing well? This is really sad.
There is no chance of Delta averaging 20k, no. Not unless it’s massively underestimated to a degree for which we have no evidence. Vol. 1 will clear 10k with the event ticket, maybe even 15k, but the average will probably be around 10k.
I know its CDs are selling well, but have no idea about anything else.
Macross main objective is selling its Music, if you know
I know the music is successful, yeah. And that is all well and good for Flying Dog/JVC Entertainment. It doesn’t necessarily help Bandai Visual (BD publisher) or some of the other committee members though. The committee surely intended to do more than sell CDs.
The show is very far from a flop of course, it’s just not the break-out hit it potentially could have been after Frontier was such a mega-hit.
Re:Zero v1’s demand keeps being higher than Kadokawa’s supplies, I wonder how long the tail will get.
Ah, so that’s why it was dropping in ranking. I got worried for nothing.
Damn, JoJo didn’t even sell anything. BD and DVD sales are weird, I’d expect them to have sales over time, but it just sells in the first week then drops in subsequent weeks.
Makes sense, though. Most sales come either through preorders for the months a volume is listed before it comes out, or during release week. For late night/otaku stuff, there isn’t going to be a long tail in most cases. Only fairly hardcore fans buy the expensive DVD/BDs. They’re not as likely to just stumble on the show later and decide to drop a ton of money on it.
Not that I expect it added much, but if anyone has the full list, let me know. Urisure still hasn’t posted, the Chinese forum don’t seem to have posted either, and there’s no news post on Yaraon or the like.
Full list is out.
Well at least it got in before the next list… I’ll start on that, thanks for the heads up.
Full ranking posted, finally! As expected almost nothing got added, but it’s the principle of the thing.
