Fall update:
Osomatsu-san v1 sells 35795/43313, total 79,108. 111/57% underestimated. Ahahahahahaha. Say hello to the second ever 100k TV anime volume of the millennium. Event tickets are scary. Animate is scary. Forget beating Owari for Fall, that much is guaranteed now no matter how bad the event ticket drop is. We should be talking about it beating UBW and Utapri for top seller of 2015, period. With v1 set to go over 100k, the drop for the non-ticket volumes would need to be REALLY NASTY for it to not manage an easy 40k+ average and be comfortably above those two.
v2 has an event ticket as well, and the Stalker estimate for that is also >40k so it could do nearly as well as v1. v3+ estimates are cut by half but half of 100k is… well. Yeah.
Concrete Revolutio v1 sells 888 as a BD-only release. 34% overestimated. RIP.
Comet Lucifer v1 sells 223 as a BD-only release. From extended rankings. 36% overestimated. RIP.

God Eater v4 sells 760 standalone BDs plus 5711 OffShot bundles, total 6,648. God Eater’s sales are so silly, and I don’t think they have anything to do with the anime at this point. The bundle portion of sales is vastly higher than Idolmaster (which was about half and half) so it definitely seems to be selling as a game first, anime very very distant second.

TLR Darkness s2 v6 sells 4068/968, total 5,036.

this are some bad sells O_O only surprised at Hidan no Aria since it was just a side-story and lots of ppl didnt like it and look it still sold 1k guess this are some loyal fans to this serie but else damn even tho arslan and shokugeki getting 2nd season thoose sells are just horible seems like they had some other incommings so they could afford to make another season which gonna also have 24episodse.
Arslan got a HUUUGE manga sales boost and Shokugeki did too, to an extent. No where as good as Arslan though. But SnS is a WSJ manga and those usually get season 2’s even if their season 1 sales weren’t that good.
Um yeah thats true but would still expect that the BD would sell more was kinda surprised was sure it would atleast sell around 3.5k~5k ^^

What do you mean? As in the gap between sales reported on Oricon and the actual number of discs shipped by the publisher?
Fully doubling Oricon reports is probably not the norm (but certainly not impossible), even if we assume a lot of shipped copies didn’t sell. But there’s definitely a real gap there, and here are some examples. The problem is that we usually only get these reports for shows that sell very well, because publishers want to put out positive PR about how successful their show is.
