As expected, lower wk2s this week after last week’s abnormally high wk1s. It always balances out. Interestingly, the wk1s this week look a little high took, so *their* wk2s should be small next week. I guess June just results in more front-loaded sales.
Spring update:
Etotama v4 sells 650 BDs, DVDs do not rank.
Winter update:
Saekano v4 sells 6676/775, total 7,451. Slightly up on previous wk1.
v3 adds 624 BDs, total 8,630.
Absolute Duo v3 sells 818/278, total 1,096. Slightly up on previous wk1.
Kurobas s3 v2 adds 954/1681, total 18,474. So like I was saying last week about expecting smaller wk2s compared to previous volumes! It was expected with wk1s being so big last week, but it shows most clearly here. 4152 vs 2635, after wk1 was slightly better than v1wk1.

No info on Nanoha Vivid yet, I guess? I wouldn’t be surprised if Aniplex decides to release it as a box set (or two box sets, since a recent post about the fall schedule on Yaraon suggests it’ll be a spring/fall split cour), but I can’t even find any announcements about a release date, never mind a place to preorder it.
It’s completely insane, but nope, not a word on a video release yet!
I have no idea what they’re thinking. Either it will indeed be boxsets, or it’s going to have a pretty damn short time frame between solicitation and v1 release. Unless they pull an Akatsuki no Yona but I can’t fathom why they would.
By pulling a Yona, do you mean having the disc maker leave and having to get a different producer to do it? Because nobody pulls a Yona on purpose right? Lol.
Though I actually thought the 3.5k number was pretty decent for Yona’s first week for it being a shoujo manga adaptation. Even if it averages somewhere between 2-3k, with its manga sales, it may not be a failure even after that…kerfuffle.
I just mean releasing it excessively late and as singles, regardless of the reason.

Something…you…you won’t stop posting anime sales will you? At least, for for another three years at least? I mean, I saw your twitter about Hibike and…well, I’m sorry for being selfish. I mean, I understand how you feel, in a way.
I’ve been at this for about six years now, so even as my engagement with anime lessens, stubborn inertia will probably keep me at it for a while yet.
Beyond the current influence of any specific show, what is really dragging down the sales stuff for me right now is the extended rankings list. It is a god-damn-ed-furst-rat-ing-pain-in-the-ass thanks to how bad Oricon’s site is, and I spend a big chunk of my too short Saturdays working on it to keep it up to date. I could just stop, but part of me hates the idea of letting any data slide. If I’m going to do this I have to do it all the way, or not at all.
Anyway, I’ve got no plans to stop, not right now anyway. I’ll probably just grumble a bit more and continue to not post much beyond the weekly lists. It’s been a while since I’ve done any other kinds of posts, though I do still do some of that as ask.fm replies from time to time, or just small tidbits on twitter.
