Heeeeeey, new lowest-ever all-time DVD threshold for the extended rankings. And it’s a big drop too, 146. Very nice.
Spring update:
Etotama v2 sells 586 BDs, DVDs do not rank.
Winter update:
Saekano v3 sells 6545/770, total 7,315.
v2 adds 199 BDs, total 9,289 in wk7, meaning it added 559 in wks4-6. 10k average is looking like too much of a stretch for this show even with its very long tail.
ShoHolly s2 v2 sells 638/261, total 899.
Deremas v1 adds 327 BDs, total 40,280. Hooray for hitting 40k, even if it’s being cheated out of a few thousand G4U units and was easily past this mark in wk2 anyway. Now it’s official thanks to the standalone edition tho.
Kurobas s3 v1 adds 213/461, total 21,383.
Kancolle v2 adds 158 BDs, total 17,666.
Jojo s3 v1 adds 167 BDs, total 10,500.
AbsoDuo v2 adds 206 BDs, total 1,227.
Past seasons:
Sailor Moon Crystal v8 sells 2,027 BDs, DVDs out next month.
v7 sells 341 BDs, total 2,841 with the 2,500 BDs last month.
World Trigger v3 sells 963/445, total 1,408.
Fate UBW adds 179, total 37,401.
SAO II v7 adds 216 BDs, total 17,867.
Shirobako v5 adds 163 BDs, total 14,263.
Kimiuso v3 adds 182 BDs, total 9,007.
Wixoss s2 v2 adds 159 BDs, total 3,120.
OVAs, Movies, Boxsets etc:
Tamayura Movie 1 adds 398 BDs, total 3,376.

From stalker info it seems like YuYuYu will have a 9.4k+ first week, maybe another 10k volume for the series
Stalker’s DVD estimate is 1,294. DVD has been overestimated 40-50% so far, so that will probably end up ~650.
Stalker’s BD estimate is 8,217. BD was underestimated early on but the estimates have been getting closer each volume and v5 was 0.5% underestimated. I assume the trend will continue and maybe this will be 10% overestimated, so let’s say ~7400.
That would be a little over 8k wk1, which I think is a safer estimate considering v5’s wk1 was only 6.9k.
I’d love to see a 10k vol again, but that’d need a nearly 30% increase on v5, which is a lot. Not impossible tho! Especially if the second mini-VN results in stronger storefront sales.
here is the current Spring sales estimate….My God Kekkai sensen has reached FMA:Brotherhood levels for Studio Bones XD..
But a lot of drops for many shows including DXD, Danmachi, Seraph, Arslan and Nisekoi
25.5k -> 20.1k Uta no prince-sama S3
*6.8k -> 19.6k Kekkai Sensen
10.9k -> 12.8k Yahari S2
*2.8k -> *6.5k Show By Rock
*2.3k -> *6.0k Hibike! Euphonium
*5.7k -> *5.9k Gintama(new series, S?)
*6.8k -> *5.4k High School DxD
*3.1k -> *4.5k Tesagure! S3
*5.7k -> *4.3k DanMachi
*4.0k -> *4.1k Kiniro Mosaic S2
*5.7k -> *3.9k Seraph of the end.
*3.2k -> *3.5k Yuki-chan
*4.8k -> *3.3k Arslan Senki
*3.8k -> *2.9k Nisekoi S2
*0.0k -> *2.0k Gunslinger Stratos.
The rest below 2k
The crazy thing about Kekkai Sensen is that it’s also kicking the shit out of most shows at Animate, which is huge. That should counteract most if not all of the overestimation we’d expect from ranking so high at Amazon and having an Amazon-exclusive artbox. I’m not sure it’ll be massively underestimated (because I think the amazon numbers are hugely inflated) but it ought to be enough to take an otherwise unrealistic Amazon estimate and make it quite realistic. Even a little low, maybe!
Though whether the Amazon estimate stays 19k is another question, it’ll be dropping over the next ew days as it hangs out in the 20s rather than top 10. Right now the estimate is influenced by its time in the top 10 the first half of the last week.
Hmm..Kekkai sensen seems way too high in my opinion. I guess the only way to find out how well kekkai sensen is going to sell is to actually wait until the BD comes out.
Event ticket vol 1, so it could be pretty huge. How much it holds onto that remains to be seen.
I found this incredibly baffling. While looking for the 1st week sales of the Love Live PS Vita game, I found wildly varying numbers from Media Create, Famitsu and Dengeki Online.
For the LL PS Vita game…
Media Create reports 59,710 1st week sales for all the 3 games in total:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-09-03/japan-video-game-rankings-august-25-31/.78354
Famitsu reports 88,169 1st week sales for all the 3 games in total:
http://www.webcitation.org/6SJraRyp6
Dengeki Online reports 102,805 1st week sales for all the 3 games in total (it actually gave how the sales were split between the 3 games):
http://dengekionline.com/elem/000/000/921/921502/
For the Deremas G4U bundle…
Media Create reports 24,341, Famitsu reports 8,639:
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1037776
Dengeki Online reports 15,356:
http://dengekionline.com/elem/000/001/046/1046272/
Weird thing is that Dengeki Online reported the highest sales for LL PS Vita game, while Media Create reported the highest sales for the Deremas G4U bundle. I know the BD/DVD wiki uses the Media Create numbers, but it is very interesting to see Dengeki Online reporting higher for LL’s case, while Media Create reported higher sales for Deremas G4U bundle. It makes you wonder which one is closer to reality, and which stores do they receive reports from… because it seems like the 2 franchise fans purchased their games from different stores.
Everyone seems to stick with Media Create for games sales reporting, but yeah it’s clearly a lot more confusing than DVD/BD reporting, in which Soundscan and Oricon both tend to agree, with minimal diferences.
Updated for the full list.
Man, I hope the Nyaruko-san BD box sells well, but I don’t remember the show really lighting up the sales charts…
s1 sold well (7,513), s2 dropped a good bit (4,522). The W BD box has a 283 estimate tho, so, it won’t sell much.
LL 2nd season now confirmed to have all volumes above 50K as of this week. Average is now 64,901.3, and it needs 691 more discs for 65K average. Hopefully it can hit 65K average, but with the LL movie being only 22 days away… there may be a possibility of one more big boost.
The 4th concert disc is only 305 discs from hitting 60K (with the DVDs), which is impressive considering it has no “sought out” bonuses bundled with it.
The 2 anime seasons and the mobile game have been the major contributors, since the 1st single laughingly sold 434 copies in 2010, and now you have minimum 40K for singles without any “sought out” bonuses bundled. The Best Live Collection album has also gone from a 9.1K 1st week to 119K after 123 consecutive weeks. It will be interesting to see how high the 1st week sales of the Best Live Collection II album is in the following week, with the franchise now being much much bigger than before the 1st season aired.
Quite impressive, I wonder how Sunshine will affect the franchise as a whole.
Checked the extended rankings for this week. About 30 DVDs and 50 BDs were new or added a week of ranking.

Thanks to Toushou Daimos dropping the threshold to 146, we now have a number for all but 7 items on the DVD extended ranking list. Obviously hundreds more DVDs have simply never made even the extended cutoffs, but almost anything that’s hit the top 300 has data now.
Though this mostly just resulted in slightly dropping averages for a bunch of shows, because previously their DVD average was higher due to these ~146 volumes not being included in the total as unranked.
The only brand new addition is Baby Steps finally ranking, with v7 being 146 and that thus being the series average. That also makes it the lowest-selling series ever for which we have at least one ranked volume.
Yurikuma had previously ranked on BD of course but we do have the number for v1 DVD now though, bringing the total to 1,294.
