Summer update:
Hataraku Saibou v1 adds 477/571, total 7,147.

Spring update:
Gineiden DNT v3, final volume, sells 3269/605, total 3,874. Series average: 4,228.

Uma Musume v2 adds 253, total 14,806.

Persona 5 v3 adds 277 BDs, total 5,559.

SAO GGO v3 adds 317 BDs, total 5,013.

Past seasons:
Emiya-san v2 sells 5176/702, total 5,878.

Idolish7 v7, final volume, adds 757/495, total 16,082. By far the smallest wk2 this show has had, so I guess last week’s wk1 sales (best since v2) were mostly just front-loading. So it’ll fall a bit short of that 22k I expected. Series average: 21,528.

CCS Clear Card v5 adds 365 BDs, total 4,446.

Darlifra v5 adds 270 BDs, total 4,433.

Death March v6, final volume, adds 240 BDs, total 1,745. Series average: 1,641.

OVAs, Movies, Boxsets etc:
Macross Delta Gekijou no Walkure adds 1345/454, total 27,981.

  1. Tuna says:

With sales like this I wonder what measures are used to address success and if there is just no more hope for anything to ever reach completion (see Gineiden DNT, like no chance for the new take to reach the length of old), were its novels even increased while airing, and I dont remember there being much merch for it either, so whatever measures are used are just not visible to the common observer, I guess, i cant imagine it breaking streaming records.

    Go i7 though.

    • something something says:

The anime industry as a whole is more lucrative than ever so I wouldn’t worry about a decrease in shows reaching completion per se. But it also depends how “completion” is defined. It’s not like it’s ever been common for adaptations of titles with lengthy source material to animate the whole thing. Even the idea of the anime being secondary to some other aspect of a franchise’s revenue streams isn’t new, we’re just seeing a shift in which of those other revenue streams is in focus (mobage, music, etc). I mean, almost nothing is more telling than the fact that, after all this time, we’re finally getting more Madoka… but only because of an alternate universe mobage.

  2. Zhou says:

The official website for Emiya-san Chi no Kyou no Gohan says there will actually be four volumes:

    https://emiya-gohan.com/package/

Each volume includes 3 episodes, and the last three have yet to be streamed.

    • something something says:

Ah yes, Aniplex and their dumb “don’t solicit all discs at once” nonsense. I always forget to check in on those later to see how many discs they end up being (just added the last 4 discs for P5 recently too). Will fix, thanks.

  3. Animeholic94 says:

is there any information on Grand Blues Pre order numbers or how week 1 estimates are looking.

    • something something says:

I don’t really track preorder estimates anymore since Stalker is dead, but Mingzuozhibi (the Chinese Stalker replacement) has it at a 1,657 estimate.

  4. Cocoa_hoto says:

Off topic but is it possible to know the box office performance of Kase san OVA?

    • something something says:

Nope, it didn’t make the weekend rankings so we don’t have any data. it was a limited release for a yuri manga adaptation… I wouldn’t expect much. Which isn’t to say it’s necessarily unsuccessful, but it’s never going to be some big thing.
