  1. Shinseira says:

Wonder if Darlifra can hit 7k…

  2. Arisa says:

May I ask how is the reception to Comic Girls and Uma Musume?

    • something something says:

I can only address reception in terms of DVD/BD rankings, and that’s just one small portion of a show’s reception.

Uma Musume may be the best-selling show of the season, but only because it comes with codes for the Granblue Fantasy mobage (and we know what a huge deal those are). Without that, it was on track for a roughly average ~3k. Comic Girls is your typical Kirara adaptation of the last few years, in terms of disc sales. It’ll probably average like 1k. (Yurucamp was a massive outlier, not something people should expect to see again for a long time.)

Don’t take either of these as the series’ “reception” though. It’s just their disc sales predictions.

      • Flushme says:

Seems like my early guess regarding Uma Musume might come true. And no, I didn’t know about the Granblue additions.

Speaking of “reception” or success, how should the Darlifra manga be judged? I think it’s doing extremly well for an adaption of an original anime. I know that’s not your primary target, but much does it benifit the franchise in a whole?

        • something something says:

That’s getting rather lucky, lol. Uma Musume wouldn’t even be top 5 if not for the codes. As for Darlifra, the manga is published by Shueisha. They weren’t on the committee, and I don’t know what kind of deals they worked out with the committee. I would guess if it’s doing well (probably because the TLR mangaka is doing it), then that’s really good news for them – they have a hit on their hands and didn’t even need to invest in the show. Lucky. Probably less great for the committee though, unless they’re getting a cut of sales instead of just a flat fee for Shueisha to use the license.

It’s possible the manga could drive more fans to the anime, though I don’t know how common that is. You’d expect it to go the other way for adaptations of ongoing series.

    • Okasaki lima says:

A good guess would be that, A Musume would do between 3 and. 4k this for those who are watching a week without such codes
Soon taking into account the curiosity of the human being because it looks only is an anime of horse girls, who will not have curiosity to watch ??
      This adds 1.5k to 2k
Now taking into account the codes would add another 2k or more but it could be less for having many other successes in the season.
I hope I have made a good guess.

      • something something says:

Uma Musume was on track for roughly a 3-3.5k average before the codes. Though that was only a few weeks into the season.

It’s hard to predict how it’ll sell now, largely because we don’t know how far the code boost will take it, but also because its boost is so Amazon-biased, which tends to result in overestimation by Stalker.

My guess though is that it ought to do at least 7k average, which would at least double its original rough estimates. But for all I know it could pass 10k… it’s so hard to tell what kind of legs these codes will have.

  3. Bob says:

Why was there no sales prediction for this season? Or is that still coming?

    • something something says:

Just haven’t gotten around to it yet. Sales are exceedingly boring this season with nothing really standing out except maybe Uma Musume, which is only selling because it’s got Granblue Fantasy mobage codes bundled in.

  4. Anon-kun says:

What can you say about Presage Flower numbers?

  5. something something says:

Still no full ranking, but it’s possible that the full list didn’t add anything new anyway. Thresholds were already 175/116 in the prelims.
