Extremely quiet week.

Winter update:
Pop Team Epic v1 adds 932/292, total 5,498. As expected it gets a proportionally fairly large wk2.

Fall update:
LL Sunshine s2 v2 adds 2362, total 44,364.

Imas SideM v2 adds 515/235, total 16,284.

Osomatsu-san s2 v2 adds 262/434, total 12,722.

Juuni Taisen v2 adds 197 DVDs, total 1,515.

Past seasons:
Kakegurui v5 sells 391 BDs, DVDs do not rank. Exact same amount as v4.

Granblue v2 adds 160 DVDs, total 47,330.
v3 adds 158 DVDs, total 44,533.
v4 adds 157 DVDs, total 43,007.
v5 adds 157 DVDs, total 42,015.
v6 adds 182 DVDs, total 47,244.
v7, final volume, adds 233 DVDs, total 50,444.
Series average: 47,787. I just doesn’t stop. Is kinda weird how only v1 misses most of the time tho. It’s just one ranking away from clearing 60k v1.

Symphogear s4 v5 adds 710 BDs, total 10,313. Unless the last volume sees a boost it should slip slightly under s3’s average. That said, s3’s average includes an addition of 621 to the average from the mid-year per-series rankings, so it’s possible AXZ will pass GX when we get that list in June. That’d make this, to my knowledge, the only franchise to ever increase three sequels in a row (even if the last increase would be statistically insignificant).

Saekano s2 v6, final volume, adds 347 BDs, total 7,916. Series average: 8,704.

Tenshi no 3P v5 adds 224 BDs, total 1,200.

OVAs, Movies, Boxsets etc:
Mahouka Hoshi wo Yobu Shoujo adds 636/247 BDs, 171/237 DVDs, total 35,730.

Prisma Illya Sekka no Chikai adds 810/182 BDs, 177 DVDs, total 14,129.

Fafner Exodus BD Box ads 216, total 3,301.

Hmmm… the number of LLS is seems a little bit worrying… still consistent but i expect them to surpase GBF easily but now im not too sure… Op,, how many chance LLS has to became the top selling anime in 2017?? Considering they have 5 more Bds to be released.. did they still have event tickets or tour lottery tickets?? Thanks for your update anyway..

    • something something says:

When it comes to LL, everything comes down to the tickets. Every LLS S2 disc has a ticket except for v7, and I won’t be surprised if v7 adds one as well.

More specifically, it comes down to the ticket cutoff dates. You can see an incredibly stark example of this with v1. In its sixth week on the charts (the week ending Jan 28) it sold 3,523, and it had been doing thousands a week before that too. Then the next week it didn’t even clear a 237 threshold, meaning sales instantly dropped off by at least 93%. That’s because the period to submit your ticket codes ended on Jan 28. Most everyone who was going to buy the disc regardless of the ticket had already done so, and people who just wanted the ticket scrambled to get in before the end of the 28th.

v2’s ticket period runs until Mar 4, so it’ll probably sell a few thousand more a week for the next three weeks. That could end up being another 10k added to the total. This process will repeat for vols 3, 4, 5, and 6 (and again, something will undoubtedly be added to 7 to boost sales). They sometimes also open up second rounds of ticket applications, so earlier volumes may boost due to that as well.

Ahhh,, i see… what kind of ticket is that anyway?? Is that a lottery ticket for Live concert or plainly event tickets (like handshake or meet and great or fansign)?? I know some jpop artist and kpop artist promoting in japan do those gimmicks,, but idk if VA do that too…

Anyway im asking cause i know that LLS did tour a lot in past 2 years… so its enough for 1 vol Bds tickets for 1 date lottery ticket..like if im not wrong they have 6 dates tour for their 3rd live right?? So its gonna be like vol 1 for date 1 right?? And its cover d to vol 6… But back when its μ’s time,, they didnt have as much concerts so i wonder what kind of event they did..

Anyway thank for your explanation… now i know why they have sudden drop after few weeks and why the sales os not as front loaded as i though…

        • something something says:

Yes they’re all for concerts on their three stop tour, two shows per stop. So v1 is stop 1 show 1, v2 is stop 1 show 2, v3 is stop 2 show 1, etc. So it’s not just handshake events or anything, thus they’ll be full-force event tickets in terms of sales boosts.
