Spring update:
Gintama° v1 sells 3840/4093, total 7,933. Event ticket. Slightly overestimated by Stalker, in part because there were *10* editions (5 BD 5 DVD) listed.

DxD BorN v1 sells 4382/1188, total 5,570. Down from 9.0-9.1k for v1wk1s of s1-2. Definitely in for a drop this season.

Arslan v1 sells 2408/1944, total 4,352. Event ticket.

Punchline v1 sells 434/166, total 600. Event ticket. DVDs from extended.

Oregairu s2 v2 sells 9245/1421, total 10,666.

Show by Rock v2 sells 5398/948, total 6,346. Down from 8.6k v1wk1.

Kinmosa s2 v2 sells 3,859 BDs, DVDs in the extended rankings. I know missing DVDs is making it look artificially worse but this is a bigger drop than I expected iven v1 had no artbox.

Nisekoi s2 v2 sells 2732/798, total 3,530. Bit of a rough drop.

Owari no Seraph v2 sells 1412/937, total 2,349. That is a hell of an event ticket drop. Down 59.4% on b1wk1 and since it might not rank again, down 64.8% on v1 total.

Plasmemo v2 sells 1523/255, total 1,778. DVDs from extended.

Etotama v6, final volume, sells 1063/204, total 1,267. DVDs from extended. Series average: 967. Large boost (er, in relative terms) for this volume, up 55.1% on v1.

Ore Monogatari v2 sells 528/224, total 752. DVDs from extended.

Kekkaisen v2 adds 1379/690, total 15,916.

Euphonium v1 adds 190 BDs, total 10,036. BDs from extended ranking. 10k get!
v2 adds 904 BDs, total 8,146.

Winter update:
Deremas v3 sells 8161/740 for 8,901 standalone discs plus 15,060 G4U for 23,961 total. Decent hold from v2, down 7.3% on v2wk1. Just hope it maintains 20k+ opening weeks through to the end. And then the long wait for the Media Create yearly lists.

Kurobas s3 v4 sells 4843/4632, total 9,475. Another tumble, down almost 2k from v3wk1 which was down 30% on vols 1-2. Not sure what’s happening to this show. Maybe wk2 will be huge and make up the lost ground.

Aldnoah Zero s2 v5 sells 4816/636, total 5,452. Series average: 6,425, down from 8,727 s1.
v1 adds 167 BDs, total 8,178.
v2 adds 266 BDs, total 6,365.
v3 adds 282 BDs, total 6,019.
v4 adds 357 BDs, total 6,110.
Aniples+ combined shipping bump in action in the extended rankings.

Dog Days s3 v5 sells 3223/826, total 4,049. Holding onto the 5k is possible, just needs to not drop a lot for the final volume.

Drrr s2 v6, final volume, sells 1854/168, total 2,922. Series average: 4,500.

Koufuku Graffiti v4 sells 1100/199, total 1,299. DVDs from extended.

World Break v5 sells 565/166, total 731. DVDs from extended.

Fafnir v5 sells 558/146, total 704. DVDs from extended.

Junketsu no Maria v5 sells 452 BDs, DVDs do not rank.

Past seasons:
Kimiuso v6 sells 5993/1007, total 7,000.

G Reco v8 sells 5658/647, total 6,305. One to go, will average around 8.5k.

Yowapedal s2 v7 adds 502/491, total 5,841.

Crossange v8, final volume, sells 443/460, total 4,893. Series average: 6,299.

Mushishi Zokushou s2 v3, final volume, sells 2708/715, total 3,423. Series average: 3,477.

Akatsuki no Yona v3 sells 1404/1229, total 2,633.

Nanatai v7 sells 1402/1085, total 2,487.

Log Horizon s2 v7 sells 1624/423, total 2,047.

Sorameso v7, final volume, sells 1,109 as a BD-only release. Series average: 1,320. Poor Noel. ;_;

Kiseijuu v2, final volume, sells 623/224, total 847. DVDs from extended. Series average: 839.

OVAs, Movies, Boxsets etc:
Grisaia no Meikyuu sells 2,960 BDs, DVDs in extended ranking.

V Gundam BD Box v1 sells 2,936.

Garupan v1 singles re-release sells 2,703. Rather heavily overestimated, probably due to having an Amazon edition. Like the Love Live singles re-release, or the later Code Geass s1 BD singles, this will not count towards the show’s initial average due to the time passed from that release. It’s a re-release.
v2 sells 2,581.
v3 sells 1,954.
v4 sells 1,938.
v5 sells 1,918.
v6 sells 1,932.

Psycho-Pass movie adds 2005/359 BDs, 705/572 DVDs, total 39,338.

35 Responses to “2015 07/20 – 07/26 Weekly Sales List”

  1. Avatar Gatmar says:

Wow…DXD Born really sold less compared to season 1 and season 2 from a9k average to 5.5k average…those changes in the third season really affected it.

Glad to see Cross Ange remained consistent to the end. with a 6k average total for the whole thing.

Kekkai and Show By Rock both are doing Great…especially Kekkai This is a good year for Stuido Bones.

Also don’t u find it that Seraph Got exactly 6666 sales? especially considering the setting Haha XD but still that ticket drop is huge.

    • Avatar Ejc says:

      BorN Vol.1 1st week sales of 5,570 represents a 38.28% drop from S2 Vol.1 1st week sales of 9,024, and 38.93% drop from S1 Vol.1 1st week sales of 9,121. That’s a massive drop considering how consistent its sales were from S1 to S2.

  2. Avatar last chapter says:

How big of a boost should we see for both Naruto and PP movie since all versions of both movies have been out of stock on Amazon for a while now?

    • something something says:

Never easy to tell, because you don’t know just *how* out of stock it was and how quickly more copies will be printed and shipped.

But I guess that explains the somewhat anemic PP wk2.

  3. Avatar Anon says:

    Horray for SNAFU, a big improvement over those 8K v2wk1 from S1 (I was a little scared when S2 v1 wasn’t able to outsell S1 v1).

Sidonia v4 sells 4,799 BDs, similar progress than the first season with each volume selling more than the last in the first week:
    v1 4,466 (Total 5,588)
    v2 4,473 (Total 4,847)
    v3 4,588 (Total 5,102)

  4. Avatar Zhou says:

Yikes, Arslan Senki was severely overestimated, despite the event ticket. It was predicted to sell 6.3k, but if the BDs sold below the 2.7k threshold, then it must have sold 4.5k at best.

And for a show that only got made so that Bandai could produce new action figures of the Gold Saints wearing God Cloths, Saint Seiya ~soul of gold~ is selling surprising well. 3.5k might be break-even numbers at best, but it’s significantly more than any volume of Lost Canvas or Omega ever sold. I guess Saint Seiya’s core fandom in Japan is more likely to support a new show when its main characters are from the original series.

  5. Avatar jiiizz says:

guys whats up with fate ubw ?

    • something something says:

As in, how is it ranking? On Stalker it has 17,536 points at present, with a 22,830 estimate (that should rise closer to release).

It’ll probably do a few thousand less than UBW s1’s 38k by the time it’s done ranking. Unfortunately we can’t compare s2’s estimates to s1’s because s1 couldn’t be properly tracked by Stalker for various reasons.

Figure it should end up around 35k at least.

  6. Avatar primadog says:

Punchline not ranking isn’t much of a surprise. How likely is it that it would go missing on the full list Thursday too? Can we at least get some idea via the extended rankings?

    • something something says:

Maybe 80% chance BDs rank Thursday for BDs and 100% in extended, 0% chance of DVDs on Thrusday and 50% in extended. Or thereabouts. It’ll sell enough DVDs to make the extended ranking threshold, but not necessarily enough to make *this week’s* top 300 so it might not make it anyway.

    • Avatar Ejc says:

BD number should be on Thursday, but you can find it out from the extended list if you know how to do it. DVD number only from the extended lists. 250 < X < 570 for BD, 0 < Y < 209 for DVD using other sales list if you want the sales ranges quickly.

      BD
      *76 *,570
      *96 パンチライン 1(完全生産限定版)
      138 *,250

      DVD
      208 *,209
      241 パンチライン 1(完全生産限定版)
      300 Cut-Off

      • Avatar Ejc says:

429~441 BDs as I can see from the BD extended list. DVD extended still being retrieved.

        • Avatar Ejc says:

166~199 DVDs. 595~607 for Punchline Vol.1, as the DVD will be kept at the 166 lower bound, while the BD will be more accurate in the 429~441 range on Thursday.

      • something something says:

Just keep in mind you need to wait until some time Wednesday morning JST before the Oricon site updates with the peak/times numbers (which allows use of the extended rankings). Doesn’t go up at the same time Youtaiju updates unfortunately. I think I was periodically checking until 9PM my time last night then stopped.

  7. Avatar Zilch Saber says:

    But, really.

I think it is just justicable to see Owari getting 937 sales since this chart released 3 days just right after the Volume 2 released.

But from what I can remember, last volume Owari sales 1, 000 + in 5 days. Correct me if I am wrong.

    • something something says:

The number of days has very small, if any, effect on a release’s sales. Even 3-day weeks contain all preorders shipped on release date + weekend B&M buys, which makes up the vast majority of sales in the first seven days.

  8. something something says:

15.060 for Deremas v3 G4U, bringing the volume total to 23,961.

  9. Avatar Pabl23 says:

Don’t we have to wait a full week to decide high school dxd true sales? They went on sale the 24th that is only giving it 2-3 days rather a whole week.

    • something something says:

      http://www.someanithing.com/3610/comment-page-1#comment-58827

Number of days has very little effect because the vast majority of sales come via preorders + first weekend.

Of course it will add sales in the second week and beyond, but far less than wk1 and the amount isn’t much affected by how many days it got in the wk1 reports. There just aren’t many people going out and buying anime Monday through Thursday unless it’s the release day of a new disc.

You only see big sales in wks2+ if wk1 stock sold out fast.

  10. something something says:

Updated for the full ranking. Already did the extended so that’s coming in a few minutes.

    (Hibike! Euphonium 10k get!)

  11. something something says:

Checked the extended rankings for this week. About 80 DVDs and 140 BDs were new or added a week of ranking.

    Updated volume 1s
    60,044 – Utapri s3
    41,069 – Deremas
    21,676 – Kekkaisen
    13,563 – Oregairu s2
    10,036 – Euphonium
    9,862 – Show By Rock
    7,130 – Kinmosa s2
    600 – Punchline

    Updated averages for finished shows
    20,165 – SAO II
    6,786 – Amaburi
    6,425 – Aldnoah s2
    6,299 – Crossange
    5,024 – Symphogear s1
    3,585 – Mushishi Zokushou s2
    967 – Etotama
    839 – Kiseijuu2

    Updated BD boxes/re-releases
    7,454 – Angel Beats
    7,219 – Gintama v4
    4,199 – Nise/Neko Kuro
    3,328 – Crowds s1

    Updated films/OVAs/etc
    39,338 – Psycho-Pass Movie
    15,155 – Shingeki recap 1

And Symphogear s1 v5 ranks again, for no reason. So bizarre.

  12. Avatar jyo says:

since it might not rank again, down 64.8% on v1 total.

I’m sure it will rank again atleast in extended ranking for both format

  13. Avatar 37 says:

    Hibike broke 10k! Nice.

  14. Avatar gyo says:

I have a question about stock availability on Amazon. Say you’re checking the availability of a particular BD of an anime and it says it has 4 copies left in stock. Then a couple of hours later you come back to check on the availability of said BD and it has 12 copies in stock now. Does that mean people returned their copies to Amazon and they added it back in the stock or more stock shipped from the manufacturer to the Amazon warehouse?

    • something something says:

It can be more stock, or it can be volumes that were sitting unpurchased in a cart being removed from the cart. Also keep an eye on which seller is listed: Amazon itself might sell out and then the listing will switch over to a third party seller that has more units in stock.

      • Avatar hpulley says:

Yes, be very careful about this as many resellers not only lack the usual Amazon discount, they charge above list price for highly sought after items.

    • Avatar Progeusz says:

Small restocks are pretty common on Amazon, I remember TLR Darkness Venus artbook going from two copies to zero to four every second day for about a month some time in the past. And yes, it was just amazon, not other stores.

Ouch, Arslan was quite overestimated huh? Still, considering the amount of CG in it, I don’t think it’s that bad lol. It really should have been given to a better studio. All the same, it’s very enjoyable. And the manga sales are still getting a small boost every week, so it should be ok.

The shoujo curse continues with Oremonogatari and Akatsuki no Yona though admittedly, Yona’s doing much much better than I anticipated. It doubled its manga sales too. Waiting for season 2, please Hana to Yume.

Kekkai v2 almost 16k! Amazing sales for an amazing show. Now if we could just get that last episode. What happened to poor Kurobasu though? Hope it gets a good week two. YowaPeda still doing decently, good.

    And yay for Psycho-Pass!
