Spring update:
Nogenora adds 690 BDs, total 8,465. Down 14.9% on v1 though it could cut that closer to 12% if it ranks again next week. This volume does also have the event ticket, so my fingers are crossed for v3+ to hold up decently!

Black Bullet v2 sells 1933/483, total 2,416. Down 17.0% on v1wk1.

Kawaisou v2 sells 1545/375, total 1,920. Down 27.3% on v1wk1.

Escha to Logy v2 sells 718 BDs, DVDs do not rank. Utter implosion from already poor sales, down 64.9% on v1wk1.

Love Live! s2 v1 adds 1027, total 112,286.
v2 adds 1302, total 50,466.

Haikyuu!! v1 adds 390/516, total 30,571. 30k get.

Jojo s2 v1 adds 749 BDs, total 12,860. Oh wow that was front loaded as heck.

Gochiusa v2 adds 527 BDs, total 10,932. Less than 10% drop on v1 now! Go go vol. 3, keep those sales up with the artbox please.

Winter update:
RGZ v3, final volume, sells 1,605 BDs, DVDs do not rank. For what it’s worth, wk1 BD sales nearly doubled since v1. Series average: 1,833 and wk2 might put it over 2k.

Nourin v5 sells 1,489 BDs, DVDs do not rank. One volume to go, ~2.4k average is about the best it can do.

Past seasons:
Kill La Kill v8 sells 7305/1323, total 8,628.

Monogatari v10 adds 607 BDs, total 38,996. That consistent continues. Just Hanamonogatari left, maintaining a 40k average (currently 42,103) should be guaranteed.

LitBus Refrain v7, final volume, adds 537 BDs, total 8,692. Series average: 9,310, comparing favorably to 10,303 for s1.

OVAs, Movies, Boxsets etc:
K DVD/BD box sells 1691/466, total 2,157.

Garupan OVA adds 1127 BDs, total 43,482. A decent enough jump over the best-selling TV vol (38,210) and should have another 1k left in it at least.

Pretty slow week it seems. Any way:
    >Black Bullet v2 sells 1933/483, total 2,416. Down 17.0% on v1wk1.
So we’re expecting maybe a 2.2k average? Which would not exactly be good, but it won’t be a total flop either.
Kind of reminds me that TR would have had a better average if its DVDs ranked more.

While it’s definitely not going to matter in terms of tracking on this site or in general (unless the company comments on it), I wonder how many copies companies sell during comiket. While I know that it’s mainly limited edition/special priced goods sold during the event, some companies are selling BDs and DVDs with limited edition goods and pricing. You would figure that they would be able to sell a few hundred copies considering the amount of traffic that flows through there during the three days (something like half a million poople).

    • something something says:

If a really niche, really otaku-centric OVA or movie were released on disc RIGHT around Comiket, and were a title that already had some storefront bias, and had a special Comiket-only version being sold either slightly early on within a week of release day, and fans were widely aware of this fact, then maybe it could be a modest chunk of total sales. But for a normal TV volume, I’d guess it’s a negligible effect.

But that’s just a pure guess!

Yay for haikyuu. It is my favourite show this year, and will most likely get a season 2, which is awesome.

Volume 1 came with a novel, while volume 2 didn’t. As harsh of a drop as that is (and for a show that I’m importing, though I don’t really care as much about the success of this show as I do with my other imports), I suppose it’s not too unexpected.

Volume 3 will also come with a novel, though, so it’ll be interesting to see if sales jump back up for that, and if so, by how much.

Escha is based off a Playstation game and V1 also had a game code which might be an even better bonus than a novel. V3 sales may show if the novel has any effect.
